Technology in Legal Practice

The use of artificial intelligence and machine learning is becoming increasingly prevalent in the practice of law. Lawyers are using AI to assist in a multitude of tasks, including document management and review, analytics, and legal research. This program will provide an overview of how AI is being used by lawyers today, the advantages and drawbacks in using AI, and the potential ways in which AI may be used now and in the future in bankruptcy practice.

The panelists will cover a host of topics, ranging from ethical issues surrounding micro-business chapter 7 cases, confidentiality and ethical issues related to working remotely, to limited representation and obligations of counsel in bankruptcy. You'll also hear a trustee's perspective on conflicts, retention and employing special counsel.

Social media platforms are everywhere. It has grown into an essential marketing tool for lawyers, who unlike many other working professionals, are bound by strict ethical codes of conduct when it comes to marketing and communicating with non-lawyers. This panel will focus on how attorneys can successfully navigate the minefields of social networking to grow their business while still adhering to the new California Rules of Professional Conduct.
